Our new Principal, Mr David Cox, was
born and raised in Manchester in the North of England. He graduated
from Manchester University in 1974. He worked in schools and colleges
in UK before moving overseas in 1987. He has taught in international
schools in Singapore, UK, Brunei and Ethiopia before his move to Thailand.
He has been a Principal and Director for 8 years and has spent 14
years of his career in South East Asia.
As many international students have parents whose work takes them
to different countries, Mr David believes that in order to achieve
continuity and progression, schools should provide an international
curriculum that allows students to move from one school to another
with the minimum of disruption. However, a good international school
also welcomes children with widely differing educational experiences,
so teachers must be skilled professionals who can vary learning strategies
according to individual needs and interests. Most importantly, Mr
David works to create a school ethos where students feel self confident
and secure in a community that welcomes all young people regardless
of race, nationality or culture. Only then can all our children achieve
their full potential.
On a personal level, apart from a life long interest in education, Mr David loves travel and enjoys trekking and climbing, ornithology and photography. He is very happy to be returning to a region which offers so many opportunities for outdoor pursuits and to a country with such friendly and hospitable people, and such wonderful food.
